Future Firefighters! Mayor Cindi King-Chan Cheers on Young Oponganons in Kiddie Firefighter Program

Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Cindi King-Chan was all smiles as young Oponganons took part in the Kiddie Firefighter Program, learning important lessons on fire safety and disaster preparedness in a fun and engaging way.

Led by the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 7 – Lapu-Lapu City Fire District together with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, the activity taught children how to prevent fires, raise the alarm, evacuate properly, and respond calmly during emergencies.

King-Chan said disaster preparedness should begin early, stressing that children who know what to do in times of danger can also help build safer and more prepared families and communities.

The mayor also thanked BFP Lapu-Lapu City, CDRRMO personnel, disaster responders, and everyone who helped make the activity meaningful and enjoyable for the kids.
