Osmeña pledges Cebu skate park after Margie Didal’s gold medal

She gets to call the shots for the park’s design.

Mayor Tommy Osmeña is beaming with pride after Cebuana Margielyn Didal snagged a gold medal for skateboarding in the 18 Asian Games in Indonesia.

The politiko has known Didal’s boarding skills, as she had once represented Cebu in the United Kingdom back in May.

“Because the awareness raised by people like you, Cebu City will be building a skate park in the SRP,” Osmeña said, adding that his sister will be donating P5 million to make sure the park turns into reality.

“As the expert, your input is of course welcome on the park’s design. Soon, people like you will finally have a place that is safe, free from traffic, and able to call your own,” the politiko added.
